    Sexing Brahma chicks

None are looking like definite males, but the first comb is pink. The fourth comb shows the least development. Everyone else is in between. I don't think it is enough to go on for accurate gendering. It will take more time.

    Chick breed confirmation

They can look different, especially from hatcheries. I think it is a gold laced Wyandotte.

    Chick breed confirmation

Are these all the same chick? The last one looks different. In regards to your question, but do look right for Wyandottes.

    Dominique?

It is the first breed developed in the United States. They are pretty rare.

    Maran hen or roo??

Any dark breed can get the black combs and wattles. This looks like a female to me at that age. If it is indeed a Mystic Marans, those are sex linked, so you're home free.

    Dominique?

I think it is very likely he is a pure Dominique. He's double barred, so wasn't the result of crossing only one barred parent onto something else.

    Who's your daddy?

I could see it. Usually it is the male specific feathering that shows the leakage, so it may come later. Anyway, that is my guess based on the appearance of the chick.

    Who's your daddy?

I think the buff Brahma is the father. If the Deathlayer was the father, the pattern would be messier, and the chick probably would not have yellow legs. White skin is dominant over yellow skin, in most cases. If the buff Brahma is the father, then the chick is a cockerel. Female chicks of that...

    Help identifying breed

It looks close to a Bielefelder but has white legs, which isn't right for that breed. I am thinking she is an olive egger.

    16.5 week old "paint sussex"

I don't think she is any pure breed. Looks to be some type of fancy new hybrid.

    Adopted chicks

If she's broody then it makes sense. Many times I have had broody hens sit on eggs and raise babies together. If she isn't broody then I would keep her away.

    Ear Lobes = Egg Color?

It is a myth. It is true that many European breeds with white earlobes lay white eggs, but this is something that has probably been selected for. White eggs were preferred in the past to brown or tinted eggs, especially in European countries. Breeds like the barred Holland were bred to be dual...

    What breed is this

I believe this is a brown red old English game bantam.

    Hatched Chick

That is a pretty chick. It looks like an Easter egger, or some other kind of mixed breed.

Coulor, i never have this one?

The mother is a lot more brown than I would expect for Bielefelder x lavender Araucana. I think the chick will be darker than her but will still have some brown. It will definitely be barred, like the Malines father.

    Chick genders??

The RIR and black olive egger look to be males. The Rainbow is king of in between. I think it is probably a pullet. The brown olive egger and the Wyandottes look to be females.

99 cent chicks from TSC Premium Pullets

The first might be a hatchery quality buff Brahma. Or else an Easter egger. I think the lighter ones are all Easter eggers of some kind.

2 month old chicks, gender guesses?

They're all females. Myrtle is not a brown Leghorn but some type of Easter egger.

Black copper maran - pullet or cockerel?

There is a connection, but she won't be laying for another couple of months unless you are very lucky or the age is somehow off.

Black copper maran - pullet or cockerel?

Yes, it is a precocious female.
