    Is this normal?

Do you have a picture of the one with the white comb? The one you're showing has red, unless you mean it's paler than your other one? If it's drastically paler than the other one, that can be a sign of anemia, caused by having mites or lice, illness, or even frostbite if it's cold where you are.

    Rate my white silkies

I have one old roo that does that but he's ancient so I figured he needed it for his old bones. Otherwise, that's weird yours would eat it.

    Rate my white silkies

I know for certain things to watch for, but one person who I turn to with my show silkies that knows so much more about the SOP is @2ndTink. To me, that roo is pretty spot on! What's the white stuff on his comb? Maybe just food?

    Newbie Here!

I wouldn't get the Corid unless you have no farm stores within reach. Anything that's got an expiration date, I don't bother getting in advance. It's expensive and sits on a shelf for a couple of years unused most likely. Spraddle leg is also called splayed legs. Usually, shipped chicks...

What's the temperature where you are???

Thank you, you be safe too! This is typical for both of us this time of year, but still, it's never fun!

It's one of those things we don't think about, like giving them vitamins is good, right? I learned from giving mine diarrhea, THEN looked it up why. ☺️

    I need to vent

For just the coops and brooders, we've always used horse bedding pellets. Wisconsin is a humid state; maybe not as bad as down south, but it's a factor we have to deal with, especially when above 80%. We can't have open-air coops like southerners can either as we have to insulate them for...

    Newbie Here!

I don't give chicks more than one day of vitamins in a row, though, as too much will cause diarrhea. Usually once their first couple of days, then again a week later, or if any are looking a bit sluggish.

    Newbie Here!

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow Congrats on the new coop and flock! More often used as prevention than first aid, but I'd start with a bottle of Poultry Cell vitamins and something for probiotics. We have Poultry Cell and Nutri-Drench for an occasional vitamin boost, and Hydro-Hen we use...

I didn't move anyone's picture and would have sent you a message about it. Are you sure? Let me go check the spreadsheet.

Chicken bum messy after she started laying

When I start seeing this, I get out the probiotics. It usually means I've not been fermenting so I get a quart going and give them Hydro-Hen in their water. That usually clears it up. Ones that are repetitive or get really bad, I just trim their feathers.

What's the temperature where you are???

We wound up with severe winds/rain, and tornado warnings. A few touchdowns in surrounding areas but none here. The farmer's corn was half down as were our trees, but all came back fine. Just a lot of branches in our yard and 3/4" rain in 30 minutes. Today, humid, cloudy, still, and 72F...

    Constantly getting errors.

There's a picture missing until I refresh. A few others were doing this. All .png that I've noticed. I'll start paying attention if it's just those. (These are entries for a contest so I redacted the entry number.)
