What did you do in the garden today?

Put up 4 pints of dill beans, and 1 quart jar of pickled jalapenos. Cleaned up the beds a little bit more, and starting some kale, romaine, turnip and mustard seed indoors. Just too hot to start fall seed outdoors right now.

What did you do in the garden today?

I hate to jinx myself, but this is the first year I haven't seen any Japanese beetles! Cabbage worms are the worst I've had to deal with

What did you do in the garden today?

the birds found my sunflowers, dozens of beautiful yellow finches going crazy on them. They were so happy I was tempted to let them have them, but nope, my chickens come first. I did leave a few but cut the rest and brought them in. Pickling cucumbers got a little too big when I was sick, so...

What did you do in the garden today?

I thank you for that offer, I don't have facebook, messenger or a cell phone. I live pretty much isolated compared to most people I guess. I have BYC and a couple of games on this tablet and that's about it. I do have a tv and a land line phone, but rarely use them either. The few times I might...

I don't know how to share online stuff either, so computer illiterate! I have been so sick for over a week, what I thought was a little cold starting went straight to my lungs and just couldn't breathe. You reminded me of the ivermectin I took during covid, so I broke that out. Whaddayaknow...

What did you do in the garden today?

I caught a summer cold and have been doing the bare minimum (I thought) for the last week. Went out to tend the gardens and found 4 dead tomato plants, the few remaining with nothing but yellow and brown leaves, some tomatoes but definitely not healthy. Cut off the dead and dying leaves...

What did you do in the garden today?

My lemon tree Is moved outside every spring but it definitely needs that afternoon shade and since it seriously needs repotting I often have to water it twice a day. Luckily that's easy since it's right outside my front door and my dehumidifier needs dumping at least twice a day.

What did you do in the garden today?

Love the attitude! I'm in my 70s, 5'2 and almost 100# and I still say the same things, lol. My house is located on a hill, about a 30* slope in the front yard and a 40 degree slope in the back. Gardens and coops at the bottom. I'm either hauling things up or hauling things down all the time. And...

doesn't help you at all at this point, but the youngest any of my black or gold sex links died was 9 1/2 years old. 3 generations of them same story. Not enough data to prove it, but I swear they need more protein than any other breed I've kept. Thanks for the tip on DelMonte products.

What did you do in the garden today?

Might be worth a visit back to Montana during huckleberry season. Eat your fill while you're there, lol.

What did you do in the garden today?

My huckleberries are garden huckleberries, related to tomato plants and grown the same way as tomatoes. They taste nothing like true huckleberries which are delectable. These take a bit of work making them edible, but I'm working on it. I'm told true Montana huckleberries don't transplant well...
