Oh my gosh what a relief! These all look the same as mine so I'm going to just keep the faith that I'm not going to end up with an awful crowing surprise!
My kids begged me to start with chicks this time and I begrudgingly agreed. All I want is 4 pullets and I'm so worried about having to...
Oh wow! That would be a total bummer if they weren't truly RIR/SLW as I really was hoping for a sex linked cross 😅
They are 5ish weeks old I believe. I had my doubts that they were cinnamon queens since they started off as brown chipmunks, but they are turning red so maybe they were in the...
A couple more pictures of them. The first one shortly after buying and the second was yesterday. I doubted the CQ label at first but now they are reddening up on their feathers so maybe the label was correct 😅 hoping I magically have four pullets and my two reddening ones are just over achievers...
Is anyone still active on this thread? I got some rural king cinnamon queens that are said to be RIR/SLW cross. Two of them are showing reddening combs here at 4 weeks which has me concerned about having cockerels. Everything I'm reading says that this crossing is sex linked. Is this true?
Bumping again and also wondering:
Are cinnamon queens sex linked? I'm seeing that they are on Google but I'm really thrown by the two showing reddening and some wattles

First two are potential boys, final is likely pullet for comparison
The reddening of the second one has me suspicious, but I am newer to rose combs so maybe they are different? 🤷♀️
Another chick from the batch to compare coloring. This one is likely a pullet. I have one other pullet with a single comb that is also pasty pale making these red combs seem all the brighter
Got this little one out of a pullet bin, but it just attacked my hand when I reached into the crate lol this is my first barred rock, but from what I understand you can sex them from their spots. Can anyone help me? Is this a pullet?
Thanks everyone! She pecked my poor orpington bloody. I threw her in the clink for a few days and nights and she seems to have seen the light. She finished her sentence and is now out on probation. I don't like her because shes a bit of a freak, but my toddler adores her so I'm trying to...
