FREE chicken coop plan (nice one too) on the Purina Mills Website

I've got the original Purina coop plans. They are a bit vague and leave quite a bit up to your imagination, though. If you want a (free) copy, send me a message with your email address and I'll send you the PDF file. -Mark

FREE chicken coop plan (nice one too) on the Purina Mills Website

Most of the time, my 3 gals share the same box. If all 3 lay that day, I'll almost always find all 3 eggs in the same box. I think you'll be fine with only one but I'm fairly new here myself and there are others that may argue something different. Welcome aboard ;)

FREE chicken coop plan (nice one too) on the Purina Mills Website

The Purina coop (4' x 4') is a good size for up to 6. That's my planned limit. There are some that made theirs 4' x 8'. TallyTaxMan built a nice one. Look back a few postings behind this one. Mine, I built entirely by myself so I have no doubt you're capable. I can send you pdf and/or AutoCad...

Thanks for the reply! I guess I've been lucky then, seeing only a slight reduction. My three are still averaging 3 out 4 days. Thanks for the welcome! I've been around occasionally since I got started on chickens a few months ago. It's been a treat so far. I'm between Houston and Galveston...

Poop maintenance for a small Purina type coop with raised floor

Quote: So far it has done pretty well. It is very hot and humid here in the summer. About 95 degrees just about every day, June through September. My initial concern was heat generation from the deep litter composting. After a lot of reading, it sounded like a raised wooden floor wouldn't...

    Sexing Barred Rocks

Thanks for the information! Always good to learn something new. I got her at a local hen farm but I think they brought her in from another farm that does the breeding. Interesting information, though. I'll check the leg coloring but I don't recall ever seeing much yellow on her legs. I think...
