    What breeds are my chickens?

Thank you that confirms most of my suspicions. The ones that have me a bit more stumped are the barred since they have the crest feathers and the smallest one even has feathers on her feet. Maybe those were crossed with a polish or silkie?

    What breeds are my chickens?

Hello I just want some help identifying my chickens. Sorry for the quality of pictures it was the best I could do. They were all hatched from eggs given to me. Some of them came from olive Egger eggs and the rest were just mixed. I've never done this before so hopefully the post come out right...

What is wrong with my hen????

Just keep monitoring her and the lesions on her face to see if they get worse. Don't pick at the scabs. The most you can do is carefully apply iodine to the scabs (just not too close around the eye) also petroleum jelly works great for them to hurry up and dry and fall off. Give her Greek...

What is wrong with my hen????

If it is fowl pox I would recommend not letting her hatch out anymore chicks. Sadly I had experience with a hen hatching chicks getting fowl pox and she lost all her babies to fowl pox. With chicks their faces are so small that the lesions cover their whole face and they're unable to drink and...

can I crack eggs for my silkie hens

As long as you don't crack the egg and leave the egg shell it should be fine. I usually crack eggs for my chickens and then mash up the egg shells for them on the side. Basically just don't give them the whole egg.

Sick feral chick pooped out a long white worm

As long as she can take care of the tapeworm problem I don't think she should have to cull. Her face will start to clear up after a while as long as she's being given food and water she should make it.

Urgent Hatching Problem - Chick Foaming in/around Mouth

Are you sure your hydrometer was reading correctly? I suggest keeping an eye on it because since it's very sticky it makes it hard for the chick to move in the egg to zip out. I had this problem once and I had to help the chick and wipe away the fluid as I went and after I had to give him a good...

Urgent Hatching Problem - Chick Foaming in/around Mouth

Is the liquid very sticky? Looks to me like your humidity was maybe too high so the egg didn't lose the right amount of weight it should've. Sometimes the chicks end up drowning in all the fluid.

    Diseases in my flock?

In the picture it looks like your heat lamp is very low and they're trying to get away from the heat? I would suggest lifting it which would help cool them down and use that area so they're not trampling each other.

What is a peacock's favorite snack?

We give ours blueberries, cantaloupe, papaya and even bell peppers. I would say the blueberries and papaya are their favorite, they go crazy for the seeds in the papaya.
