Hello!
Just a note: I had to fix the lighting on the photos as all of our bulbs seem to give off an orange/yelliw glow. If these don't qualify, I'll wait until we have sun again and retake the photos.
This is a necklace I made from
Glass seed beads
Glass dagger beads
Glass fire-polished beads...
We've been putting the B & Calcium in her food as we can't get her to keep beak open (hubby's fingers can't take much more). We'll also figure out how to provide water that she won't dump the container!
Thank you!
Gave her 1/4 of a B-Complex and a Calcium supplement last night. Also gave her homemade electrolyte water (which she tipped over 🤦♀️)
I know i can give her more B today and we are getting her a water bottle. What about the Calcium - we are starting oyster shells for all today - do we give her...
...limping very little! Today, again, let her out for a few hours, but, then she just hunkered down and when we went to pick her up, she was like a d*ad weight! She was alert, good color, but didn't protest when we put her in the carrier. She was eating & drinking.
I plan to start Vitamin B &...
Thank you all for your help and suggestions!
We are going to hold off on the calcium for now and just add OS.
Surprisingly, the egg was a double yolk and Hubby said it/they tasted just fine.
Ah! Wet feed 🤦♀️ That makes sense! I have some pancake mix that got some "friends" in it - I can add their feed & a few eggs to make Chickie-Cakes! Or Flap-Hencakes!
We are rural too, but, the foxes, groundhogs, and stray cat may like my chickies too much 😆
Do not apologize for asking questions! I told that to my students all the time! How will you learn or invest in learning (or get answers) if you don't ask questions?! 🥰
They are still pullets 😁. The feed has oyster shell & omega-3 in it. We have a very hard time getting them to eat it, so...
Hello,
Not sure which hen laid this egg, but I'd like to figure what may have caused this so i can prevent all my hens laying these.
I read the article about eggs, and now I'm worried about everything we do or don't do for them :hit
Husband thinks this may be from our smallest Sapphire Gem...
Update: Millie has spent significant time in the dog carrier and her limp has improved! Because she's laying and she has no ability to forage, we've let her out for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours before bed. This has been only in the last few days. It helps her mood and we haven't had any...
All great information...but now I'm literally terrified that we've either (a) frightened one or two of our hens constantly, or (b) one or two hens are sick!
Yes! She gives us good sized eggs at least one a day. She has layer mash available all the time. Hubby is getting oyster shell tomorrow and I'm giving her grit. She has all the bugs & worms nature provides! She got 2 cucumber slices and about 1TBS of scratch today.

First 3 are bad foot - had a hard time getting her to unclench 🥺
Next is her leg of bad foot.
We have felt all along her leg and toes and feel nothing out of place.
Will post the video I have from yesterday. Will get foot & leg photos this morning.
She's in a dog carrier (it's all we've got ☹️) with food & water. The other hens haven't picked on her or been mean - quite the opposite! Yesterday, there was always one with her 🥹
Hello,
My girl Millie has been limping today We were hoping she would come out of it - as this morning she could put weight on it. Tonight I'm sobbing 😭 because now she's limping worse and she's fanning out her wings at times. She has no sores on her feet and nothing feels out of place in her...
