How many days? My rooster stopped crowing, he has bubbles coming from his mouth, his tongue was hard to reach to make sure antibiotics didn't go into his lungs. It helped in the beginning but he is still shaking his head. So I have the nystatin, how many days do you treat?
Great news! Got the Fecal check back today. The sulfa drug worked to get rid of the coccidiosis (after the Corid) - so do you always treat with Corid and the Sulfa or take turns (if it ever happens again I want to do it right the first time)
Strike III (natural wormer) worked for the...
I had a bad infestation a couple of years ago. I had to scrub down the entire coop with water and soap. I let it dry and then sprayed with neem oil. I bathed the chickens in mild soap and rinsed them. I covered the place in D.E. (like I always did) but also in Neem Oil (spray container). I...
Okay, I ordered that but they still tested positive for coccidiosis so isn't that what Corid is supposed to treat? Or does this secondary come up as coccidiosis in the fecal test too? I'm asking do I still have to treat again with Corid or just with this Sulfa mix when it gets here? Thanks!
I lost a hen and then saw another one getting lethargic. I did the fecal test at local vet and it was coccidiosis positive. I treated for 7 days with Corid 9.6 in the water and still saw red in the poo of the sick chicken so I then treated for 14 days in the feed like oatmeal and the water since...
What was your natural mixture? You mentioned so many things. Can you be helpful and give some ingredients and dosage or the link where you found the natural remedy? Thank you.
I put it in the DE duster and mix it about half and half and put it everywhere, the walls, ceiling, floors and then cover the floors with hay - have had no problem from it. The girl who told me about it has used the Borax for a very long time without any problems. I still didn't put it near the...
Thank you 1muttsfan, but mine are full grown chickens. Is it usually just chicks who get it? What is coccidia and how do I protect them from it reproducing too much?
Thanks cafarmgirl - that's good to know about the corid. I have Tylan 200 liquid for injections and Baytril tablets in stock. I prefer not to do the injections. Especially since they are just gaining weight. The rooster has a hoarse sound and the hen is coughing. Others are and have been fine...
I had two chickens with respiratory issues that I got rid of the problem through boasting their immune systems and gyllamycin several weeks prior and then did the corid for a undigested poop and one was just shooting it out as soon as they ate or drank. After 3 days of corid, the two chickens...
Anyone know what to do for wax in the ear using VetRx?
Or any other remedy?
I've cleaned them and there's not much anymore, but he's still shaking his head.
Thanks!
So glad to see this on here! I was petting my rooster today, Peck and he smelled funny so I did some looking around and found both of his ears filled with wax. At least that's what I thought and coming on here helped to determine my common sense was correct. I cleaned them both out with q-tips...
Thanks for the direct email contact and help!! Just to let others know - set up an account here so you can get emails and post what you need and learn how to use this site. I'm in training, but really grateful for the Site and the generous and helpful people that are on here as well!
Okay, one...
Thanks dawg, Can you suggest any dosage for 3 days, then? Do you think the .3mL will be enough (or too much) ONCE each day for THREE DAYS since they've been sick this long and not wheezing (and snoring) any longer? I obviously did too low of a dosage on the Dyamacin-10 (tetracycline) for...
Thanks. The link doesn't say how much Tylan 50 to give them or how many days. Since they've been on antibiotics and not wheezing again yet, I'm wondering...
I found one site that said Tylan200 one time and then 48 hours a second time. Then, many of these say for Tylan 50 give 1/2cc to 1/3cc...
that site says more symptoms than my two have... mine do not have swelling around the face, no discharge from the eyes, no irritated eyelids, no diarrhea, but they are full grown and this may be for chicks? Should I just do the Tylan50 injections? My shots are by ml - how do I translate that...
Yes, I can give the injections. I have the Tylan 50 but not the Sulmet, if it is Coryza because of the foul smell on their nose discharge. My two are fine and no I did not keep them separated. Do I have to cull?????
