I need a little help, please. Two weeks ago we've noticed that one of your oldest hens was developing trouble breathing and sneezing a lot. After a tour to the local animal store, we bought what was told to us to be an antibiotic, it was supposed to be administrated in the drinking...
After watching too many forums and you tubes and examples here at the BYC we decided to build the coop for hour 3 hens. :)
This is the result, unfortunately we haven't take to many photos has we would like, but I think you could have the idea.
The measures were almost every one "by eye" ;) and...

Found this photo on my mobile photo
Taken couple of weeks. For scale purposes that is a 1Gallon water.
There's also a little white one in the back, but she's smaller than the other two. We still not sure why since she eats nice and runs very happy.

Probably this question has already been answered, but I can't seem to find it
Our hens are about 4 months old, at least we think they are, acording to some photos we posted here, and the great help of this forum.
They normally are in the run and not in the coop, also we have the nest...
We recently started to make our own compost, and we had the ammonia smell problem, and after added a layer of straw the problem was solved.
we haven't watered for the past week and beneath the top browns layer is still wet and warm, we are rotating the pile once a week when we add the kitchen...
Yep,
Now for the past week they are going to the coop at night, but only if I have the Patio Light on.
Since the patio light doesn't have a timer, and since I have indoor light in the coop so it turns the light on from 20:30 to 21:00 which gives them plenty of time to go up.
Its working fine...
Mine had the same problem and by advices from this forum, I've started to light a small patio light near the runway to the coop and for the past couple of nights they are climbing nice and fine to bed. Does your coop have a window?
Take a look at the forum post where I got my advices, here -...
