That would be kind of a bummer. :(
I was supposed to get some seramas from a woman but she flaked on me so I ended up getting the two reds from a feed store near her house. This is what they looked like 4/21
These two are approx 6 weeks old and are supposedly bantam RIR pullets, but since they came from a rather skeezy feed store, I have my doubts.
The one up on the step was slightly slower to feather out and it's comb is just the teensiest bit bigger. In the beginning, that one was a little bit...
This little guy was brought in to the local animal shelter as a stray (roosters arent allowed in that town but that doesnt necessarily stop people) and we've had a lot of questions as to his breed(s). Any thoughts? They'll adopt him out once his stray hold is up.
I sure hope so. I keep telling my little jailbird friend that it would be most helpful to go ahead & lay an egg.
They actually got in another stray red hen that I thought about going up to get.
Is that not this section? Or is there a specific thread to post in?
No idea on age; they told me adult & I just brought the chicken home tonight, so nope, haven't seen any eggs or heard any crowing.
Adopted this stray chicken from the animal shelter today. She was picked up several days ago in not the nicest section of town and not surprisingly, no one came to reclaim her. She seems friendly & is quite easily handled though. I was thinking maybe some kind of game bird cross? She's pretty...
So a rooster for sure? He'll be put up for adoption when his stray hold is up tomorrow. Hopefully someone will take pity on him. I think they have him listed as a hen though, which aren't allowed in town. Some people even thought the little guy was a vulture at first.
My friend has my cowdog's littermate and she tried this after her dog played a little too hard with a chicken. She said it wasn't a malicious killing, probably more like a herding that went awry. The dog was caught red-handed so to speak, lectured that she was bad & had the chicken immediately...
Always a good idea.
Something you may want to consider though, if you're really concerned that you need to protect your images, is to move the watermarks up into the subject of the image instead of along the edges where they can quite easily be cropped out by evil-doers.
Some photo-editing...
Congratulations on giving an ignorant, self-entitled airhead her much-deserved comeuppance. I bet she's one to try bullying the teachers when her brats are flunking too.

I do have to disagree with you on this point though. Now, I'm not really a hunter, but I know more than a few bird...
I'll have to ask my mother what the name of the book I sent her is.
I went down to the bookstore (In my case, Half-Price Books) & flipped through all of the chicken books. Some of the ones with the better, more in-depth information were rather dry & had illustrations instead photographs. I'm...
Been there probably a dozen times or more, starting even before my first birthday. It's grown & evolved soooo much over the years. It got kinda sad & grungy for a while years ago but then came back, not sure if they changed owners or what.
