New to hatching guineas
I'm going to try my hand at hatching guineas. I've attempted to help my mother and she got 6 live out of about two dozen but only two made it. So I'm going to try to incubate a half batch of guineas and a half of Marans. Do what do I need to know about hatching two kinds of eggs. I know the...- AParmer

Oh dear I need some quick help. I put my hatch on lockdown about an hour ago. I just went to check and make sure the humidity was where it needed to be and had an egg explode! It's a mysterious white one that showed up amongst my flock of brown layers. I've not been able to see into it since day...- AParmer

Great looking babies! I love hatching with you all! My August hatch is finished. Out of 6 locked down, we have five beautiful babies. One of the two that I pipped for last night is out, about 20 minutes ago! It has curled toes and I will have to put a boot on it when it fluffs up. And another one, not the second assisted pip, was out when I got up this morning.- AParmer

I made a small hole in each of them. They had both made it through the air cell as thought. One is chirping up a storm. The other I can see moving it's beak, but the hole isn't close enough for me to tell if the inner membrane is still on it's nostrils or not. I don't want to make the holes too...- AParmer

The roller and one other appear to have gotten through to the air cell, I'm wondering if they just can't get to the shell. The air cells are pretty big too!- AParmer

Wanted to share a little bit better picture of my newbies. They're so tiny! Pip three is chriping away and the roller is at it again! The darker one in the back is a RIR/New Hampshire and the lighter one is a Buff Orp/New Hampshire. The remaining four eggs are 2 more Buff/NH and 2 more...- AParmer
