Yup we have that(its almost 4 sides...with just enough room for them to get in and out)...though I had to put them in it last night....they were huddled by the door together!

I would of course prefer them not to be on the ground yet...but they grow a bit faster then we planned for! Their pen hasn't gotten wet any of the times it has rained(including with wind)...we had checked that out before deciding where to put them. I think we will try it and see how it...
If I move my 3.5 week old turkey babies outside into their coop. They are about too big for their brooder and are constantly trying to fly out. It is in the 80s during the day and 50s at night now so I was thinking with a light they should be okay.....thoughts??
I went out earlier and everyone was fine(I have 2 ducklings and 2 goslings out together). Then when I went to feed(about 30 min ago) one of the goslings was laying with its legs drawed to its body shaking its head and its wings straight out like it couldn't get his/her balance and...
I posted last week pictures of one of my turkeys that I didn't know the breed. I was given the choices of wild, narganasett(I know I didn't spell that right!) and bronze(bb or reg). Well it seems to be getting a lot bigger then my bourbon red poult that was hatched at the same time. Is this any...

How old will they be when I know(and I am guessing by their feathering I would be able to tell a difference?) Excuse the total turkey newbie question!

Are Africans generally green colored? Mine(both geese) look greeny/yellow(though it doesn't show as well in the picture). The two yellow ones are the ducklings that I think are pekins.

* Wow, 3/28 is really young. Does he/she seem to be strengthening or getting weaker? Are you sure the chick is drinking and eating-- I mean was it observable when it was separated? I think I would start the chick on vitamin drops right away if nothing else-- Per dlhunicorn's often-posted...
I have one polish in my brooder of Delawares. He sits a lot and will sit to eat...sometimes rests on the top part of his legs doesn't try to fly much when all the others are, seems to sleep a good bit but eats and drinks normally on his own. I put him in a separate box thinking maybe he was...
I am still stumped on this chickie... he/she has the most markings from my others...my invoice says 26 delaware but he/she doesn't seem to look like everyone else! I also noticed today that the chicks leg color is totally different then everyone elses...everyone else has orange legs where as...
Can you tell by their feathering?? I got 26 straight run Delawares(they hatched on the 28th so they are a week old) and then my one silver laced polish. About 15 of them have lots of wing feathers and their tail feathers are starting to come in. The other 10 have short stubby feathers on their...

I turned the heat lamp off for a bit but then they started crowding under the other light so it went back on! They usually all mill around the whole thing a bunch just seem to go to sleep under the reg. light(there are more spread out as well).
Two questions....we have had our chicks for 2 days now(they hatched on the 28th..all made it in shipping and are all still kicking as we speak! ). A few seem to have pastey butt...doesn't seem too bad since I have been watching for it and check everyone every am and night(I usually clean every...
