    Backyard Pole Light

    I have a security light beside my run and it does not bother the chickens. Besides it is a good thing to have to ward off predators because they do not like to expose themselves. They prefer to do their raids in the dark.

    Huge Snake problems

    I snake proofed my coup by covering the cage wire with wildlife netting. If snakes try to penetrate it they get caught in it and can't back out and I can kill them. I also poured a concrete apron around the coup to stop snakes from slithering under, and prevent varmint from digging in.

    Foxes are mostly nocturnal but one showed up more than once between 9 and 10. I have not seen one past that time. After I learned its time frame I was able to keep watch and kill it. I had set out cage traps but caught raccoons and possums.
