I just started having this issue with egg yolks that are clumpy or chunky. It is as if the yolk is soft boiled. You don't notice it just cracking the egg as everything looks fine, but when you try to scramble it, you realize the yolk is not liquid. More like peanut butter consistency. Not...
She seems to be OK. I cannot tell if she is laying or not. We have six chickens but have only gotten six eggs a couple of times, but not since this one was sick. We have had 5 eggs several times. My guess is that she is not laying. I am worried that she was/is having internal laying. I...
She is better. Not losing weight and eating better, but still not totally normal. You wouldn't know it if you didn't pay attention. I give them treats and they all gather to eat. This hen is right in there, but when I watch her, she pecks a lot but doesn't necessarily eat like the others...
I know this is an old post, but whatever happened with your chicken? I have one with these exact symptoms. She seems to be getting better, but not sure what is wrong with her.
Thank you. She is on day 4 of Corid. She seem perkier and poops are better. Still not a great appetite, but eating some. When Corid course done, I am going to deworm.
After more research, I found a description of her crop that fits - doughy crop. I have read that it can be as a result of coccidiosis, so I might be on right track with corid. I also read about giving over the counter yeast medicine. Is this vaginal cream given orally? I also ordered...
Yes, saw her trying to clean her hind end. I read about giving papaya seeds for an impacted crop. Have you heard of that? Apparently, they have an enzyme that breaks stuff up. I bought a papaya, but not sure if I should try it.
She pecked a few scrambled eggs and some grit, but still really no appetite. Not drinking water unless I force it. she walks around slowly, but mostly just stands around.
Not sure. I brought her in about 24 hours ago. No egg while inside. We have six chickens and get 3-5 eggs/day. One day we did get six, so we believe they all do lay, but never know who is laying on a given day unless we happen to actually see it.
If anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it. Monday evening, we noticed one of our six 7-month-old Dorkings acting really strange. Isolating, moving in slow motion, not really foraging when free ranging. Before they went in for the night, I offered some wheat berries and she ate a...
