    My personal opinion is leave them to the natural light its mother nature's way of giving the chickens a break. A well deserved one too I think. It all depends if you've had them just for egg production or as pets too. Good luck either way.

    Hi only got 3 chickens, 2 cream legbar 1 buff Sussex. I'm in the west Midlands UK. Its going to be a window that is only open in the day it will be tightly sealed at night, yes there will be other ventilation when the roof goes on. The coop is 3x3x3.

    Eggcessive, are these diseases treatable? I haven't noticed any smell but I will check today. And how would I know for sure if it is a disease and are my other birds in danger of catching it from her?

    Hi twisted, no problems with roaches here. I keep there house and run clean probably too clean I'm out there every morning and every night. They are spoilt little chickens!
