I think the one in the brooder is 5 days old-ish? It’s smaller than the ones that just hatched. I believe it’s a mallard or Rouen, and the ones hatched are Swedish/khaki Campbell mixes. I was thinking of maybe putting the little one in a small crate and putting that in with the mama and babies... -

Brooder is inside! Two are with mama. It’s 93 out with 58% humidity and “feels like” 107 according to my weather apps. The coop is in the sun, with accessible shade. Also lots of water! -

Ohhh look at those pretty babies! Yes I think so! My girl doesn’t seem to have a bib but maybe she’ll get one? Lol the drake started as a yellow duckling with some brown and is now white and grey. -

Oohh interesting! Is eclipse plumage female coloring? I thought Atwood’s got their birds from a hatchery so I wouldn’t think they’d have mixed birds but I’m wondering if these ducks might be mixes of different breeds. Lol Thank you for responding, by the way! -

What is this little friend?
Got this duckling at Atwood’s back 6 weeks ago! He or she was yellow with brownish shading (I’ll include a pic) and now is gray and white! I’ve no idea what kind of duck. I also got 2 Pekins, a khaki Campbell, and what I think is a blue Swedish at the same time. -

Temperature for month old ducks
Hi there! My sweet ducks are a month old and I’ve had them outside already because it’s been so warm! Well a cold front has moved in and the lows this week will be in the mid 50s. Will my ducks be okay out in there coop with that or should I get a coop heater (not a heat lamp) or bring them in... -

Thank you so much!! I’ve got her in a separate enclosure by my duck and chick brooder so she’s in a warm area. Just gave her some of that mixture and keeping an eye on her. I did find out a nearby vet does see chickens so I may take her in if she seems worse. I really appreciate your response...- WhitF

Dog had my chicken what do I do
My puppy (he’s BIG) got hold of one of my little pullets and was holding her in his mouth and “playing” with her. I don’t see any gashes or cuts but she almost sounds wheezy. Any advice??- WhitF

Well I picked up more babies at Atwood’s bc…well why not? The chicks were in a bun labeled “fun and fancy pullets” hahaha! There’s two pictures of each one, I’m thinking maybe Andalusians?- WhitF
