Thank you for your reply.
He's 10 months old. Born Oct last year so we named him Pumpkin.
Not sure about coccidia... But I read another forum post and their goose may have had mycolotoxins, with similar symptoms.
(With lots of research online) we decided to give the antibiotics yesterday...
My goose has not been eating for almost 4 days.
He drinks water and I've managed to get him to drink some vitamins.
He's a bit more slow in walking and sleeps more often.
He still follows his gander around and I've seen them mating two or three times in the past few days.
He still bathes...
Thanks for the information... I'm glad to know that. I don't want them to be too dependant on me. Cos I work full time, they will be spending time out in a fenced garden most of the time.
Hello friends and goose experts...
I need advice on gosling imprinting. My gosling is in the midst of hatching from egg. Externally pipped and slowly making its way out.
He or she is the only egg that reached this point due to unfortunate circumstances.
I read that goose that imprint on...
If anyone still looks at this post. My goose Sherlock is all grown up and so has her Muscovy duck friend (Watson). We also got another Muscovy that turned out male (Samson). All three of them are friends and Watson (the duckling has already started laying eggs).
After she, Watson flew up our...
My chicks did that (sparing) when they started to outgrow the brooder and the place got too crowded for them... A few weeks later, it was to establish their hierarchy. We let them spar but as long as they didn't keep at it too long (they would fight, one would run away after a while). It worked...
Definitely agree with this.
We bought two chicks recently (my previous ones were all hatched from my own chickens).
It was definitely good that we quarantined as one of the chicks got sick and died 😭.
We have no idea from what. But if it was infectious, our other chickens would have been at...
Just an update, we extended the roof and now it's much much drier. Turns out, we didn't need the drain after all, with the roof extended.
We've just been having really bad weather recently so it we had a chance to test the roof out (many times).
But now there's less sun in the coop (good for...
Sorry for the late response. We're thinking of doing that now. Probably going to extend the roof first and get the water to flow outside the roof and into a small ditch.
The nesting boxes and perch are on the left, then there's an area that is within the coop that is open air but with netting. Shade cloth covers the front of the coop. And the last photo is the chickens grazing area. It's fenced up so they are protected from dogs.
When we built it, we did...
They have perches and nesting boxes that are away from the rain.
The water does drain pretty well... It's just that with repeated rain, the ground stays muddy for a long time. And when they move around, it's gets really messy. ☹️😅And it's really slippery. Like a mud bath...
I'm wondering if...
I stay in a tropical country. So it rains a lot. A good thing about the weather is that we don't have winter and temperatures stay in the range of about 23 Celsius (night) to about 35 Celsius (day).
My coop is in my fenced garden. I'm having a problem keeping the floors dry. It gets really...
Hi all
I have a Silkie rooster and a what looks like a Polish frizzle.
I would like to know (for future) if these two breeds are ok to breed?
My Silkie may not be full breed as he has some hard wing feathers. But other than that, he looks pretty much like a Silkie.
Both chickens were hatched...
Can goose and Muscovy ducks eat this - it's labeled sweet pea sprouts? I found them in the vegetables section at the supermarket and thought it would be a nice treat.
But then I googled and found conflicting information. Some websites say it's toxic, some say it's different from the sweet pea...
