Sorry for the late response. We're thinking of doing that now. Probably going to extend the roof first and get the water to flow outside the roof and into a small ditch.

That should work.

Can you do a modified French drain in your run? It may help get the water out faster.

Just an update, we extended the roof and now it's much much drier. Turns out, we didn't need the drain after all, with the roof extended.

We've just been having really bad weather recently so it we had a chance to test the roof out (many times).

But now there's less sun in the coop (good for hot days cos it's cooling) but it's getting pretty musty...

Well, we learn new things everyday. Just have to deal with it.
