    Very interesting. Thanks for the insight. I have another question. The breed standard says "preferably no shank showing" and "Shank: short; in large part hidden in side feathers" this seems odd and contradictory to what I see in the Biels* I have and the photos I have seen here.

    Yes! It has been wonderful! I have two new chicks that have been stuck inside till they feather more but the last few days have been so hot I've almost considered turning on the air conditioner! So my babies have enjoyed outside time! I will definitely check that out! Maybe the pictures along...

    I was looking for an explanation of the terms used in breed standards (I.e. Triangular body type? What does that mean?) and found this list. Can anyone tell me with certainty... These are the ONLY colors you can show for a Cochin? So my penciled and splash hens wouldn't be admissible as cochins...

    They're so irresistable! Titus is pretty at ease and fell asleep perched on my arm really quickly but the Cochin is much more cautious of me. I think her name is gonna be Yeti bug until I'm sure she's a girl and staying in not gonna commit to a name.
