yeah, I'm gonna try to put a heat lamp in there tomorrow or so, but i'm gonna have to dig out the extension cord from all the snow and I don't have time to do that tonight.
So I live in Northern NH and I have 2 NH Red Hens. they were born on April 29th 2009. I used to have a flock of 5 but 3 of them got killed and one got injured but survived. I was really cold, so I had kept them in the basement but now I have no other option but to put them back into their coop...
So my 7 month old New Hampshire Red Hen was attacked by what we think was a fox probably about 2 days ago. She just returned home this morning. We brought her down to the vet, they were no help. So we went over to the local Agway and they said that she should be fine since she has been eating...
So I have 5 NH Red Hens and all of their "toe" nails, I guess you would call them, are getting to be quite long now. I got my chickens when they were one day old from the feed store on April 29th of this year. (I don't want to do the math of how old they are now, LOL) I have never cut their...

I just moved to town about 2-3 months ago so I don't know very many people here and family and friends are out of town, I had to stay to take care of my chickens and the basset hound of the house.

errg, I don't like long trips... and my agway (feed store) only sells big bags of feed and I don't have a wagon... I do have a bike here but last time I tried to ride to the store I fell twice and scraped up my left hand and right elbow area pretty badly, they are almost all healed but...
If you count my 5 week old hens as adults then I use the plastic one gallon white dispenser (top) with the red bottom from the brand little giant, but my chickens cracked it the other day so I am now trying to create a rig for the water...
In the mean time I am using the chick's smaller...
I just put the last of my 5 week old NH Red Hen's feed into their feeder today mixed in with the last of some quick oats I had laying around to try to make it stretch. I don't have access to any transportation for about 4 more days at most.
I do live in a small town (I'm in the country) so...
...thing for the waterer as I did the feeder but instead of the box I used one of those plastic Domino Sugar tubs and filled that with bags of dirt and put the cover on.
My rigs will definally NOT win ANY awards for best feeder/waterer design but it seems to be working thus far. *crosses fingers*

I would do that but I live in the upper portion of New Hampshire so the average day right now is about eh, 60 degrees F. out right now... my chickens HATE wind and the loud farming trucks and tractors that go by on our street.

OK, I think I understand what your trying to say... I do have to roosts for them, one is a low roost and the other roost is a higher up, I don't know how they make such a big mess since they do it when I'm not watching. But they still do try to roost on top of their feeders and...

I love that combo idea! Such a space saver! I wish I had thought of that before! (Oh I don't know, when my chickens were a day old, that would have been useful!) I will wait for more ideas though... I want lots and lots of options to choose from!!
