My guess is pullet. I got 9 females and 1 male buff orp this season and my boy had a much bigger/redder comb and wattles at that age. He’s 11 weeks now.
Yes he is. I am showing Nugget as an example of why I believe your barred rock is a girl....his male features stand out at a similar age and I couldn’t see those features on your chick.
BUT this is just from my point of view.
Well....now that I think about it, it’s very possible its a partridge rock. Especially as they look similar to day old buckeye chicks. Plus the local feed store could easily have mixed them up in the bins.....oh well it’s still a beauty
Any guesses on this 11 week old?? If feel stupid for not knowing this. Of the breeds we bought, I narrowed it down to either a buckeye or welsummer...it was supposed to be a pullet too but you know how that goes.
Oh yes I have 60+ chickens that free range during the day. I keep them for eggs and entertainment....plus I definitely lean towards weirdo animal hoarder LOL
I love my Meyer Hatchery chicks but think they slipped me an extra cockerel...what say you???(they are about 6 weeks old)......sorry it’s just head shots.
Yes and I love it. I started using it last summer when my birds were just looking awful...molting and too many roosters (got rid of several).... Within a month they all greatly improved...it's a little pricey but I've continued to feed it to them and here we are in March. Results...they are all...
I think 8 or 9 have hatched....it's so hard to see and they seem crowded. I may have to transfer some to the brooder soon but it hate too with so many pipped eggs.
