I love my Meyer Hatchery chicks but think they slipped me an extra cockerel...what say you???(they are about 6 weeks old)......sorry it’s just head shots.

The comb is really red for a 6 week old pullet chick, but I’ve only seen the coloring on pullets and hens.

Oh yes I have 60+ chickens that free range during the day. I keep them for eggs and entertainment....plus I definitely lean towards weirdo animal hoarder LOL

I think hold off for a few weeks before knowing for sure. The coloring is pretty uniform, so more like pullet coloring. There aren’t any large patches of white like you see in the pic that was shared of the other roo. I had one EE I swore was going to be a roo because of how red the combs was at 6 weeks and so far at 16 weeks it’s a pullet.

Thanks for the advice! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a pullet but either way it’s has a home for life.

I believe you have a cockerel on your hands. Yes, the coloration is uniform overall, but that comb is a little too suspicious.
