It's always best to use another temp/humidity gauge aside from the gauge on the machine. This second one you will put inside with the eggs. Machines have a way of going out of calibration. Get a good one and trust the one inside the machine.
...is an Alchemist Farm BCM. The eggs are:
- 5 BCM x BCM (brother to sisters)

Kebonnixs incubator
The EE cross was the first one out! There were no signs, pips, cheeps, or rocking in the morning. By 11, I realized I heard cheeping...
Hello, this is my third time incubating eggs, so I am far from an expert. I am using a kebonnix incubator. My first hatch I achieved a 57% hatch rate. 7 eggs were placed with one empty space in-between each egg, except two silkie eggs which were next to each other and one standard egg. I...
I'm going to add what I did and how it went just in case anyone has the same question in the future.
I got an old school thermometer (not digital) and it was also reading low, but only by about 1-1.5 degrees. I upped my temp on the incubator to 100.5 and it created a consistent 99.5 on my...
Where are they starting to look like quitters, in the Kebonnix or 360? I’ve had super good success with the Kebonnix, and I love the 360 as well.
Congratulations! They are beautiful.
So now I’ve done a few hatches in the Kebonnix! Lots of success, even did a staggered group and had to manually turn eggs that were not in lockdown. Everything went super smoothly!
Question for you all…has anyone done quail eggs? I have 22 eggs coming next week, and I’m hoping to fit 2 quail...
...name of the incubator it represents.
The NR 360 keeps a TIGHT temperature rating as you can see barely fluctuating, while the Janoel and Kebonnix oscillate up and down but really only within a degree variant.
I’m paying most attention to their averages- all are good.
Also noting any highs...
So jealous. I would love a 2nd incubator, but seeing that I am expanding my run and adding a coop and my husband is already shocked when there are more eggs in the incubator I do have I think I should just stick with one. lol
...Runner Duck eggs shipped to me. 6 white, 6 blue.
Air cells are a bit jumbled, but everyone arrived in tact.
I split the eggs between the Kebonnix and the Janoel12 after setting them up and letting them run for 2 days first to check for stability and temp flux. it seems they both hold...

...have or buy a separate thermometer/hygrometer. I bought 2 different Govees and one other brand that came as a pair.
For one that's cheaper than both of these, check out this thread on a Kebonnix. https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/kebonnix-12-egg-incubator-thread.1568172/#post-26620070
...so definitely want to have a reliable incubator.
I plan to keep eggs upright and hand turn so won't need an auto turner. I've narrowed it down to the GFQ 2370 and the Kebonnixs 12. Anyone have good or bad experiences with these or thoughts on why I might want to avoid one versus the other?
...temperature/humidity
Have read 99.5 for forced air and 50, but to drop to 30 during lockdown?
(Which when is lockdown?)
3) I have a 12 egg kebonnix incubator with auto rotater. got for this past holiday season, haven't used it but have test ran it, can change days and temp.
4) anything...
