A few months ago we hatched a female duck and she’s always been attached to me following me around and wanting to be picked up. Recently when I’ve been picking her up she’s been trying to mate with me. She’s in a flock with other ducks (male and female) so we’re not sure why she’s doing this. Is...
Does anyone know if this is an internal pip? The duckling has been quite lively and moving his egg around the incubator and then we saw this, is it an internal pip or just where he’s been pushing against it?
p.s the hole in the egg is so it doesn’t suffocate
Does anyone know if this is an internal pip at the bottom of the air sack? (Ignore the small ventilation hole in the egg, we made it so it wouldn’t suffocate)
What do you mean by their weight loss? And when you say D2-5 do you mean of them being in lockdown?
We also haven't had one internally pip yet they always die beforehand.
Ive already made a similar post to this and tried the feedback I got from there with unfortunately no success. We've been trying to hatch a duckling for nearly 3 months now and haven't managed to hatch one. The Ducklings/Embryos develop well and always look healthy inside of the egg. Yet, when...
The ducks eat: Lettuce, Sunflower seeds, Pellets and Calcium/Protein coated mealworms and occasionally live worms (They don't have all of this every day most of the time its 1-2 times a week) . We've also tried fertile eggs from another flock which didn't live past day 10 I think. One of the...
Yeah, ive heard the same I know people say to help them with the external pip , I just feel like the internal pip shouldn't be taking this long especially with the amount of movement the duckling is putting in to try and pip.
We have a call duck egg that is trying to internally pip, we first noticed it trying to internally pip on day 25 and it is currently day 26, about to be day 27 and it still hasn't managed to internally pip however we can still see it trying (We aren't opening the incubator we can see the air...
We've just candled this egg for the first time, and saw these two dark lines. not sure what they are. but the embryo is still moving inside. the egg is day 19 if that helps.
I can't remember what the nutrition is off the top of my head 😅And we'll try cutting back on the treats for them. What they have varies, somedays they will have pellets and the mealworms (I think the mealworms are coated in protein but I may be wrong) and on others they might have some lettuce too.
We'll try that too, we rarely get the eggs out of the incubator as we can usually see the embryo moving if we shine a dull torch through a side of the incubator. Ive seen people recommending putting the eggs in lockdown on day 25, is that too soon or too late?
we’ve been trying to incubate duck eggs for about two and a half months now with no success. We have gotten to day 26 and then the ducklings would just die. The temperature we’ve tried incubating them at is 37.5 degrees Celsius and the humidity is 50%. We’ve had about 15 fertilised eggs that...
