joletabey I had faith in you that you would not let Kathy influence you. You are starting to bend big time. I can hear more cherps from your direction already.........
joletabey: I don't know what Kathy thinks, but just two breeds? That would be like having two pairs of socks.....two glasses in your cupboard...buying two gallons of gas at a time............(if I wore dresses, no rumors please) two dresses in the closet....... is it possible to stop at two? I...
Kathy Yes we are close in your likes. I forgot to mention I had to buy an other incubator to finish off the last hatch of Orpintons and Jersey. and then I'm done!! (maybe)
Kathy I got 21 chicks from Pine Grove on Tues. They all arrived cute and healthy. Amazing that he mailed them from GA on Monday afternoon and I got a call from the Post Office tues. morning that they were there waiting for me. I just got my Bill Branden eggs and will start them this Sunday...
Good morning all......Here is a pic of some of Claudia's Dels and a couple of RIRs. They are six days old and very full of energy. I'm going to try and attach a pic of a morning in Central Oregon The outdoor photo was hour ago....there is another two inches of snow now. (today)....
Brick, I really like the color of your birds....have you shown your RIRs anywhere? I'm just getting into the breed and hope to show some at the county fair this summer.....
Kathy: Those are some very cute looking chicks and to think I'll have chicklens from the same family in a couple of weeks. Maybe I have been working in hospice for too long but the little yellow chick on the left looks like a little old man with a very hairy back.......
From what I have listened to it seems like Bill Braden and Serious Bill lines would be a good for an outcross. I assume that they are two different lines and have heard nothing but good for both of their bird's confirmations as compared to hatchery stock.
I've been watching and reading this thread. I have really enjoyed the pictures of everyone's Dels. I have a dozen of Claudia's eggs in the incubator now with a hatch date of 17 days from now. Claudia was great to deal with and did an excellent job wrapping the eggs. Speaking of different...
Hi Kathy,
Your Dels look pretty uniform. That looks like a large coop, how big is it. I just started a set of eggs from Claudia today. Dels from Claudia, and P. Rocks and RIR from a breeder in Penn..
Patrick

Hello Oregonians,

thanks for the info on the RIR tapes Chris. I also liked the pics of the RC and SC roosters. That answered my question if there was ever any positive benefit in crossing the two.
I plan on joining the RIR Club. I also heard they had some good video on judging that happened at some shows. Has anyone heard that or have any tapes or DVDs of different birds at shows?
