Sounds a lot like my hatch! I had 42, all but 12 hatched, and I had two pass away, one of which I had rescued, but he wasn't fully formed. All in all a great hatch for both of us! Love the different colors you got there. :)
A Buff Brahma! Love it! That's one of the first ones I'm going to get if/when my hubby gives me the green light for chickens. I, unfortunately, wasn't able to keep any of this last hatch. It was literally heart breaking! Good news is my friend is going to keep all of the hens, so we can...
Exactly. They are sex-linked. Yellow are roos and orange are hens. They are all at their new home. All but one that we lost overnight. :( I heard a lot of peeping last night but couldn't figure out which one was crying. When I got up this am she was gone. I didn't tell my daughter because it was...
How is everyone doing? My hatch is over. I have a total of 10 hens and 19 roos! I lost one boy who wasn't fully developed. :( I candles the other 12 eggs and they weren't viable. My daughter and I have already grown so attached to two of our field and are really hoping my husband lets us keep...
Great! Thank you. It's kind of like the lull in the storm. 28 chicks in 24 hours. Still waiting on one that has been zipped for awhile. I can see him/her moving around, s/he just needs to get the energy to kick, kick, kick!
Love this one too. My question about having it on the grass is sprinklers. I'm sure my husband could rearrange, but just curious what any of you do. I kind of want a tractor so I can pull them on the grass during the day after the sprinklers have come on, and then onto the patio at night...
Adorable! I love dog eared pickets. That is what our backyard fence is made of as well as the roof of my daughter's clubhouse. It would fit in perfectly! Hm... I'm loving all of the ideas that I'm getting!!!
So exciting to see everyone's chicks! My hatch it going well. I've got 28 out of the shell, one zipped, one almost out, and 12 eggs with no pip or any action from what I can tell. I'll give them a couple of more days I think, once these last two are out, I'll take all the chicks out and into...
I had one that was pipped for almost 24 hours before hatching. Don't give up hope. ;)
My hatch is going well so far. I've got 22 of the 42 hatched with quite a few others pipped. There are a few eggs that I don't see any pips, so it will be interesting to see what happens with those guys.
So, two minutes after my last post, I came to check on the chicks and one more hatched! It was the first one that pipped after our first little guy hatched. She took her sweet little time. LOL! I have a total of six hatched, at least 12 more have pipped, that leave a lot left. Haha! I set...
We've got four more! One hatched before bed and three while we slept. LOTS of pips so today should be fun. :)
So excited to see and hear about all the chickies! Can't wait to do another hatch.
Ok. Here is Boomer! This was not long after he came out of the 'bator. He's now "happy" in his brooder awaiting his peeping, pipping, and zipping brothers and sisters!
