Update!!!
For anyone interested, at 10 weeks old, I feel certain that we have 4 pullets. I don't know how we got so lucky, but I'm so happy.:celebrate Thank you to everyone who replied with their guesses. :D
...has an unknown mom, but one of my large fowl hens. The other 3 (Penguin, Pickles, and Pepper) have the same mom, a mixed bantam barred rock hen.
*As a side note, my daughters named all of the babys, lol*
Anyway, I keep going back and forth about gender. They hatched over the course of a week...
Yeah, I can see why it looks like that (I'd think the same thing), but the first 2 pics I'm candling it from the top at the air cell. The last pic is candling from the small end. The eggs are actually from my coop. The little guy is active in there and everything else looks good. Those lines are...
Hi,
I am incubating 4 eggs. I was candling day 7 to check them and saw something I can't figure out. I see veins and movement, so I know its alive, but there are 2 weird small black lines in the egg on the one side. When i candle the egg from the small end i can also see a little "dip?" where...
I need to rehome my 3 Roosters. They are purebred and sweet. 10 weeks old. My only other option is to take them to the auction, which I'm trying to avoid for my daughters. They would make great roos for showing at fairs. Let me know. Would be willing to drive partway to drop off. I'm in Florida
So, here's my final post for anyone interested. For the 2 older chicks (now 12 weeks old) Deputy and Tilly, we ended up with a girl and boy. No surprise. The other 4, I think, are 3 roos and 1 pullet. They are now 10 weeks old. Marshmallow (white cochin) is definitely a girl. Hey Hey (the white...
I have 3 - 8 week old cockerels that need rehomed. They are sweet and turning into handsome boys. My daughters hatched them out as a summer 4h project. They would make a good addition to someones flock or as a 4h fair project. I am willing to drive to meet someone to drop them off. I'm located...
Hi!
I have 3 purebred cockerels that need homes. They are 7 weeks old and very sweet. I have a Partridge cochin, a White cochin, and a Buff orpington. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks
I agree! His comb is a lot darker in the pic than in person, but he acts like a roo and the pink just keeps spreading up his comb. The only 2, I think are pullets are tilly and Marshmallow. I'll post pics again in a week or 2. Thanks for the comments..... :D
So here's an update for anyone following. They are all doing well and my guesses are staying to same so far. 2 pullets and 4 roos. The one obvious roo (Deputy) started trying to crow, lol. It was too funny. Here's some pics.
Deputy - 6 weeks (obvious roo)
Marshmallow - 4-5 weeks
Hey Hey -...
