    Hi,
I am incubating 4 eggs. I was candling day 7 to check them and saw something I can't figure out. I see veins and movement, so I know its alive, but there are 2 weird small black lines in the egg on the one side. When i candle the egg from the small end i can also see a little "dip?" where the lines are. Any ideas?

I am not 100% sure, but could it in any way just be the air cell you're seeing? It looks like a saddled air cell to me. Were these shipped eggs? I can't see the air cell elsewhere, but it could just be hard to see in photos. I've had air cells that wonky shape though.

Yeah, I can see why it looks like that (I'd think the same thing), but the first 2 pics I'm candling it from the top at the air cell. The last pic is candling from the small end. The eggs are actually from my coop. The little guy is active in there and everything else looks good. Those lines are just odd. Maybe just a thick area of blood?:idunno

Maybe it is just thick blood. I've had some with some pretty intense looking veins, so maybe it's that?

Could be the beginning of a blood ring...or just veins.
    Just keep observing.
