What’s your main reason for joining our community?:
    Discussing chickens.
21 years old, psychology major, working in the youth section of a public library currently. I love chickens (and turkeys) and a bunch of other animals. I hope to be a children's psychologist some day.

I have owned chickens for as long as I can remember. There was a period of time when I was 10-12(ish) years old that we briefly didn't have chickens. In middle school, I decided to get my own chickens with my own money and take care of them all on my own. I purchased ten little chicks (two of each kind they had at Rural King.) Those ten chicks were soon joined by some silkies, some Polish chickens, some other random breeds, and some Pekin ducks. When all of them died, I was without chickens for a year or so while I finished high school. My first year of university I bought chickens for myself again. Now I am a junior at university. I own many types of chickens. I have one royal palm turkey. I have had four broad breasted turkeys in the past, after falsely being told they were not meat birds at purchase. :( In the past I have had Pekin ducks.

I also have wiener dogs, two leopard geckos, a miniature schnauzer, five fish tanks with varieties of fish, a ferret, a hamster, and two lovely cats.

When I'm not hanging out with chickens I am at work, at school, volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters, volunteering at Head Start Preschool, singing, talking to my friends, writing, taking photos, listening to music, making hawks leave my chickens alone, getting enough sleep, or doing homework.

    Have a lovely day.
