Thanks. We have a lot of predators to deal with so I just want to do this right the first time. It's 4 x 12 x 6 and I have 6 chicks. I was worried about them hurting their feet on the wire. Either way we need to bury it for sure.
I looked thru previous post and didn't see anything on this so I apologize if I missed it. We are working on our coop now and trying to decide the best floor for the run. The actual house will be off the ground but I need predator protection from top to bottom. We were thinking about just...
i just got legbars too but this one looks like my roo. The roo had a white spot on the head and is lighter in color compared to the hens (girls). My roo does not have the hairdo yours has but Im putting my 2 cents in that it is a roo.

Thanks. I didnt want to damage them for life! I will just let them stay in their tote brooder for the time being. I am such a "mother hen" taking care of them. I am glad to know that it is not damaging to them when I make another change. They didnt act that bad when I brought them home from...
I have 6 chicks ranging from 3 weeks to 1 week old in my brooder. Its a pretty good size plastic tote with a screen lid. It has room for their heat source which is a ecoglow and their water and food and a small area for them to chill. I saw some other brooders that were bigger and gave them a...
