Hello Hoosiers. I have two Roosters to give away if anyone want's them. I'm around the Crawfordsville area. I do not know what breed they are but if interested I can email pics. I just have too many roos.
Earlier this spring I bought 15 chicks (different breeds) at my local TSC. Now they are getting older and it appears I might have 3 or 4 Roo's in the mix. If I'm raising them only for the eggs should I seperate the roo's from the hen's?

I'm just now building my enclosed run. I am going to use welded wire on the top as well as the sides. I intend to leave the door open to the run all the time. but if I have problems with predators then I will close it at night.
Hello, I'm Jeff from New Ross. I'm new to chicken raising. I have 8 chicks (still trying to find out what breed they are) My wife Bren and I live on our 5 acre mini farm along with our 6 Minature Schnauzers, 8 chicks and soon we will be getting a couple of Goats.
My coop (converted shed) has a loose gravel/dirt floor. Will that work ok? also, what is the "deep litter method" ? and what is best to use as litter? Thanks.
