Cripple Keet all tangled mess :o( *pics*

Yes, I have, thank you! I was reading this today. I have spent a LOT of time in the last 24 hours pushing to find anything to get her legs working for her. Well, ok - I have been putting a LOT of time in anyway but over the last 48 it's been rigorous... more so by the hour... At the moment, I...

Cripple Keet all tangled mess :o( *pics*

I have done the bandaid and the rubberband methods for days on end. The keet is now two weeks and has had one method or another on her legs every day since hatch. I don't have any chickens yet to hatch anything out for us, or we would have. We also thought the incubation would be a great home...

Cripple Keet all tangled mess :o( *pics*

I added a cardboard support between the legs to keep the leg a little closer and tighter because with the others it seemed to just keep wrapping up. I am considering a chicken chair. I incubated 30 + eggs and got FIVE babies.... it isn't easy to let one go. Three keets and two chicks made it...

    Bumblefoot? or????**UPDATED

Have you looked into pox for the spots? It doesn't look like favus to me, or thrush, really... but I could be wrong - haven't seen favus first hand but have read on it. For the feet - I haven't seen anything like it. Poor thing. I sure hate seeing sooooo many people looking at your post and no...

Cripple Keet all tangled mess :o( *pics*

I finally got some pictures and figured out how to put them up, so here they are. This keet was born with splayed legs. One seems fine but the other only keeps getting more turned out. For the pics here I did put it on the floor, but obviously it isn't on the kitchen floor on a regular basis. I...

I quite literally burst out laughing when I saw the hair tie. I thought the same thing, but hadn't perfected the idea yet. YEAH! I am 'hooking' her up tonight! THANK YOU!

Anyone Wanna Play A Hatching Game?!

It is a nice stable bottom and I have a towel on it since the keets were learning to walk - two of them were way early and the eggs were dry and it's a miracle they lived... they scooted the first couple days and they're fine. I have pics but don't have time to get them on here just yet. I will...

Anyone Wanna Play A Hatching Game?!

Thanks! Tell ya what... I just hatched out three guineas (never had them before) and I have been just dreaming of this lavender one. It's the biggest of the three... but I am wondering if it is normal that it's legs (which are very large and long) won't hold it up? They're always slipping out to...

Chicken (Poultry) Addiction Anonymous *Chat Thread*

I am supposed to be ordering chickens. My husband wants just barred rock. I said... "I want a couple guineas." then I said... "The kids want a couple fluffy funny chickens." then he says... "I want turkeys" and now I say... is a 25 x 25 pen going to be enough? no. never. I have placed...

Anyone Wanna Play A Hatching Game?!

Anyone Wanna Play A Hatching Game?!

i thought it was a good idea. and then like 40 ppl read it and obviously didn't think the same way bc i didn't even get an answer. i generally do not post newbie questions (except when the post we are supposed to be looking for answers in is filled with comments irrelevant to the topic and you...

    Guineas Hatching!!! NOW WHAT?!

I absolutely love birds - the bigger, louder, weirder and outright comically questionable - the better. We haven't had any birds incubated before, we always had chickens and they did their own thing and we let it happen naturally. We are starting anew and this is horrifying. So far, I am...

Quote: I have a bird cage and the bulb sits above the bottom about 22" - I covered the cage in tinfoil in keep the cats from playing with it... the towel encouraged them... lol. stupid felines. :o) It's not up to a high enough temp in there yet to put them in it. When do I start offering...
