Cripple Keet all tangled mess :o( *pics*

I finally got some pictures and figured out how to put them up, so here they are.
This keet was born with splayed legs. One seems fine but the other only keeps getting more turned out. For the pics here I did put it on the floor, but obviously it isn't on the kitchen floor on a regular basis. I have done everything I have read from bandaids, hair ties, etc...

Is there more wrong with it, or should I try a little more aggressive treatment while it is still young and has a chance at recovery?

The keet is about two weeks old now. The sequence of pics are most recent first. My daughter is 'helping'. There are more pics in the birdums album in my photobucket.

Any help is appreciated!

no replies yet. I have read all the posts on here about spraddle leg. I am not asking to be an annoying noob, as I am followed all direction that can be found on the site. I posted pics.... now I am standing on my head. Is there something I am missing?

I would try more agressive splinting. If in a few weeks there is not substantial improvement I think I would cull

I added a cardboard support between the legs to keep the leg a little closer and tighter because with the others it seemed to just keep wrapping up.

I am considering a chicken chair.

I incubated 30 + eggs and got FIVE babies.... it isn't easy to let one go. Three keets and two chicks made it through. We had insane humidity come up in Minnesota and the temps skyrocketed about a week before lockdown and we lost nearly everything in the incubator. There's no time for another batch.

I swear by a broody. I put 10 eggs under her and she will hatch 9. If I put 8 she will hatch 7. Nature I find is more reliable for hatching than an incubator. It is hard when you work so hard and get so few.

Really go aggressive on the splinting and see how that works. I hope you can straighten them out. Good luck and hope things work out

I've used the band aid splints with success. I make sure the band aid is at the elbow and keep the legs together within about an inch. You'll have to use your judgement as to what is best for the keet. I wish you luck.

I've used rubber bands before and they have worked.

whatever size you have, use it by itself, or double it. place in between the legs for support.
generally takes a day or two, then the legs become more solid.

others have used some sort of baby/leg/cardboard support from underneath, and after a few days they are fine.
