Yes the whole back opens up, I did that so it will make clean up a bit easier.
I do not have a picture of the final product with the roost ladder in there but that is on the opposite wall as the hen house and along the front by the window so they can have a nice view. :)
Well got my window all installed today, I imagine the girls will like the breeze through their coop a lot better now then before when I just had six 3in holes drilled through the top board running between the rafters.

No, the back of the hen houses are open so I am going to make an access door on that wall so that I can just open the door and reach in from the outside and just grab the eggs.
