Okay I am treating her like she has a swollen crop but I have corid arriving today in a couple of hours. I can't get it any sooner. I have a lot of stuff coming today I should have had on hand already. I forgot how sensitive chicks can be. Thank you both so much!
It does feel like a swollen bump. I just gave her vegetable oil and will message her softly in a bit. Thank you! Lets hope that's it and it works! Her poop has been normal so I don't think coccidia, but I bought some corid just in case.
We let the chicks out yesterday to explore the area where their run will be and my ameraucana was just standing there, no pecking and scratching. I kept her in a brooder in the house overnight trying to give her electrolytes. She didn't poop overnight. I don't see anything obvious as far as her...
They were a week old, and she didn't sex them, she sold them as a straight run but for an extra fee she will let you swap them out for a hen if you get a roo. I'd rather do it sooner instead of waiting two more months.
Here is my Isabel Orpington at around five weeks. What say you? Roo or Hen, or too early to tell? My other two orpingtons are shorter and rounder. I tried uploading pics from yesterday where he looks taller with thicker legs, but they aren't uploading. Thanks!
I have joined two local groups on FB to see if anyone is interested. I had posted on a different FB group a couple weeks ago but got nothing - I think they only care bout political posts! 🤣 But the two new groups are promising.
I'm brainstorming on how I can make it work a bit longer, until I find a good fit. They are so sweet and beautiful. This is so hard. And my kids looooove them.
I have had a few responses on craigslist - but to be honest I really want them to go to a pretty experienced duck owner. So far they are not previous duck owners so I will try an animal forum.
Hi, I am looking to rehome my 4 ducks. I am in North Orange County. I have 2 female welsh harlequin and 2 female silver appleyards. They are 5 months old and healthy. We are having complaints on noise (they are kinda loud when they want to free range, want fresh water, tomatoes, etc...🤣).
The complaints are over their noise. At first we thought it was the welsh but it is also one of the silver appleyards. Although they are both a bit quieter than the welsh.
Reposting...Not only are my neighbors fed up with my ducks but my husband is now too. We have had two complaints just this week and I can't find anyone to take them. They are 5 months old now. 2 female welsh harlequin and 2 female silver appleyards. We are in North Orange County. We need to find...
