I have a light brown leghorn and while she does not really enjoy me trying to grab her she is really sweet and curious... and beautiful!! If i could get a few more i will.

Has anyone heard of chicks dying from medicated feed?? The hatchery I ordered my chicks from highly recommends un-medicated feed for this purpose. Does this sound correct?

My feed store also gets their chicks from Privett and they gave me their old phone number and when i googled it this page came up....
I bought a 150w(red) from petco online. I will be getting chicks in around April and it will be warmer here so I hope the bulb will be enough for 4 chicks.. It gets down into the high 30s right now at night.
Perfect! Now i have the feed in a plastic bin with a lid and will be putting it into the coldest room in the house, It should be fine until lets say April? It will depend on when/where i decide to get my chicks from....

I was thinking that it may be a good idea what if you use medicated starter for the first two weeks or so and then switch to non medicated once they look healthy and maybe untill they are fully feathered?
