Well I just lost one of my hens and a sad day it is , I also have a young rooster recovering in the "big house" hope he dosent fake it next time jsut to come inside. I have covered part of the run and placed a fan inside the coop, I will start giving them more ice water and such.....really...
We have a incubator and aobut 1/3 of the eggs have hatched......2 of the chicks didnt make it and crawled and stumbled on the other eggs in the incubator. should i clean those eggs and leave them in there or will they be ok being dirty with the blood of the chicks?........its breaking my heart.....
mine are in the process of hatching now I have one out and another breaking....when do I take the one out that is already hatched..and what temp do I make their new home?
How do you get a Roo to stop crowing early in the morning, I mean real early. ( He was crowing at 4 am but with the time change he is now crowing at 3 am, It dosent bother me but my neighbors are getting ready to lynch me....................HELP!)
Mine have gotten up to 9 eggs from 10 hens(thats not counting the one hen that gets out and I just found her "nest " where she has been laying...not sure how long but she had 30 eggs there.
Tried the warm water and they all sank like rocks!She has been gettin out for 3 1/2 weeks now and there are 30 eggs is it possible that they are all good? Is it possible she is just laying more than 2 a day? Should I just mark them and check each one before I use them, and haow do you tell if...
Eat them, she is just 5 months old so I dont know if her eggs were fertilized or not. Will try the warm water method though, thanks

finally found out where my little girl was hiding during the day. She gets out(an escape artist) and is gone and suddenly reappears at the end of the day. Also found 30 eggs in her hiding place,lol
how long can a egg set out before it goes bad. I know all of these are bad, i was just wondering.
My Grandparents on my mothers side are still alive, he is 89 and she is 86, and he tells me of the stories of when his family had over 100 chickens and how they would always get all over the yard:lol:
