I have 2 ayams, Phil (roo) and Lil (hen) they were sooo funny as chicks, I'd let them out during the summer when they were growing up while I cleaned the coop everyday, and they'd jump on my back and chill- then they stopped once they got bigger (like 7-9 weeks) and Phil turned skiddish, and so...
aww she's so cute!! Yeah I don't really think anyone will question it, and even if they do I plan to carry the certificate/note by the mental health professional on me- and I don't plan on taking her to restaurants where salmonella could spread, I just want to take her to the store with me.
so I was wondering if any of you have emotional support chickens, and your experience with that. I'm about to start the process of making my one Blue Cochin, Max into an ESA. I just need to know if I'm allowed to bring her into public, because I get panic attacks and mood swings, and she would...
yeah you may have an extreme frizzle, I used to have one and there's nothing you can do. Since you said you live in central Florida just make sure to keep her cool at all times, because since they have no feathers they are more susceptible to frostbite and sunburns, in your case sunburns, so...
So I have these two chicks from the local festival, and they're both 5 weeks old. The lady who sold me them said that they're Buff Orpingtons, but from pictures of BO chicks, they don't really look like them. My guess is that both are some sort of mix ??
The one chick (likely hen) has blue bare...
hey guys! Super long time no see :< I've been busy/forgetting about this website, and I was doing the chickens the other day and remembered!
So I posted a long long (Lmao I think it was August) When I posted about my few week old chicks!! I'm going to get wayyyy updated pictures soon, but...
Hey guys! Long time no see! Just was enjoying the summer and caring for the chick-ies! I have got 6/10 now since some of them died (at like a week or 2 old- Unknown cause)
BUT I am very happy to say I got a bantam Cochin frizzle, and 3 regular bantam Cochins! All with lil' fuzzy Mohawks :) and...
Hey guys! Long time no see ugh. Probably 8-9 days? Well I am so sorry for literally no updates, so I am going to cram all of the interesting stuff about them/what happened here!
All 10 are hatched, all super healthy, and really cute. They are all eating, drinking, and just doing generally really...
yeah man! I am really happy with the results, most of the polish chicks are grey/black/tan/white mixes, which is actually really interesting! Oh I enjoyed them all day- I checked em probably about every 30 minutes basically rooting each of them on when they were hatching C,x
OKAY so 8/10 have hatched, and 2 are pipped and both trying. I feel really tired right now and want to settle down, so here are the pictures I took when the first 2-3 came. I 110% promise better pictures tomorrow, I just feel tired out from today, chores, tractor supply, setting up their little...
thank you guys!!! My Cochin bantam (which actually might turn out to be a black frizzle- ff (straight black cochin) x FF (black cochin frizzle roo) might give me a 50-75% of frizzle chicks?)
is 1/2 around the egg and its bursting!! Also 9/10 are at least pipped- and the last one is my biggest...
GUYS THEY PIPPEEDDDD (sorry too excited rip) the humidity was fine the whole time we were gone tonight (my family movie night- dinner+movie idk) 4 hours, and I came home to the eggs chirping louder, and 3-4 of the eggs pipped!!
yeah!! I checked on 2 of the eggs (both Polish) and they were alive, I am HOPING TO HECK they hatch tonight or tomorrow. I might even pull an all-nighter watching movies to make sure they might hatch? (I am not going to open the lid since they don't need candled anymore.)
yep! Except I am kinda confusing myself, as I put them in on the 19th at 2:00pm- and I think today was day 19? and early this morning I took the turner off. so idk what to do :o
and sure :) totally gonna send pictures if they start to hatch/hatch/or chick pictures/ updates !!
yeah! It's pretty amaing :0 wow! I have always wanted to hatch duck or quail but my mom would be driven mad. So it is a definite no lmao.
I am truly excited! Day 18, and I took the turner off so they are in position to hatch! and the temp is perfect, and I am just super excited to see the mixed...
like the title says I really want to see frizzle mixes :)
a Black cochin smooth x black cochin frizzle
since I am hatching 2 eggs from my black cochin smooth rn and I want to see outcome :)
thank you!! <3 ikr?! Plus Bea's eggs are so tiny, I didn't even know if a chick could fit? It was a miniature clown car x,D
<3 Love naming chickens Cx my silkie's name is Pablo- idk why (I had no idea of the name/why I named him that) I chose that but my friends+family tease about the name.
so, I have 8 chickens.
4 polish (2 tan+black, 1 merle, 1 splash), 1 rooster silkie, and 1 frizzle black cochin rooster.
I have 7/10 eggs in my incubator (day 18:) and those 7 are polish eggs. The polish get bred by both roosters, and I just wonder what kind of mixes they might end up being?
hello! While I haven't been on this website for a year, I am coming back! Right now I'm hatching cochin bantam eggs (3 of them- 2 are from my little black cochin Beatrice, and 1 is from my tiny black frizzle cochin, Meep.) and then 7 are polish.
I also have one black cochin frizzle rooster...
