    different color brown eggs

Hi, I think that is normal. My hens each lay a unique color of egg and it's part of the fun for me being able to tell which of my hens laid each egg.

what kind of predator makes this print

thanks, I have set the trap every night this week without catching the critter and didn't think it would be this hard - more of an art than a science I guess. I will try the camo idea and hopefully tonight will be the night. thanks again!

what kind of predator makes this print

90% certain it is opossum, I saw places around the prints where a rat-like tail had been dragging. Trap was set two nights in a row but the opossum won't go in it. First night pork chops, second night can catfood, will try fruit tonight but I think this guy knows about traps. Will he...

The chicken was badly mauled, neck broken in a couple places, head eaten, and the body was also chewed on and gutted, but the rest of the bird was intact and left in the coop. I have seen...

Little shed into a coop - My summer project.

Hi and congrats on the good deal on the new hen house. The only suggestion I have is to look into building pop-out nest boxes in order to maximize the inside space for your birds. I can't comment on the best type door, we just used a house door with a handle. Tacky but it works and was free lol.

    bent legs

hi, I'm sorry to hear about your little chick. I had a little chick who couldn't stand, it would drag both legs behind it and crawl like a seal. I ha d very good luck putting bandaid splints on the chick, it took about a week before i removed the splints but the chick walks fine several months...

The bigger chick in the back on the right? It is a Blue Americauna. I ended up with two silkies, one Mille Fleur, one bantam Barnevelder and the Americauna.
