Found it today, never seen an egg so deformed with a hard shell like this one. Is this normal to happen from time to time?

    Egg peritonitis again? Not again!

I have released her with the other hens some time ago but these last 2 days in a row and those shell less eggs are appearing again. She looks fine but I think she will have problems again.

    Egg peritonitis again? Not again!

ok, I will see if it recovers then. i think I need those items because I cannot do it other way around. in fact, I have never done it and in my mind the cone and loppers would facilitate a gigantic task for me.

so, what do you say? is culling needed? today she acted pretty normal but I am afraid she will suffer if I do not do anything.

    Egg peritonitis again? Not again!

No. The older birds are not even 3 years old (the red star I had to cull last week). This white chicken is more or less 1.5 years old. Do you think I should go forward with culling this one too? She is looking fine today but so was my red star and it died in extreme agony.

    Egg peritonitis again? Not again!

She is showing activity signs, almost normal behaviour today so not sure again on what to do. And she seems to be laying eggs with transparent shell. What do you think this is? And will she dye from this?
