Since there is no way of knowing how long it was cold, I would continue as usual and see if they hatch. Were the eggs cool to the touch when you found the problem?
I have Rhode Island red eggs but, i just seperated the hens with the rooster a week ago. Before that they were all together with the EE roo, and the RR loose in the yard during the day so it's anyone's guess what will hatch if you got them now. I'm in Des Moines and would help you out in a...
Thank you for the information. I too use a still air bator. The humidity has been 33% constantly with a 98 to 100 temp. I will raise the humidity and hope for the best. I agree that setting eggs all at once would have been better. I have a lot to learn.
My two Bourbon Red turkey hens have each been laying an egg a day for a month. I incubated 6 eggs, four died fully formed without pipping. One I helped hatch after it pipped and it is doing well. The last egg is still alive but not pipped yet - four days late. I'm frustrated, and saddened by...
The turkey with the chicken on it is a standard bronze. The others are Bourbon Reds, one male and two hens. I have been breeding the Bourbon Reds and selling the chicks. They are gaining popularity amongst turkey connoisseurs as a tasteful alternative to Broad Breasted Whites.
The loss of moisture causes the egg to float. As eggs get older they loose more moisture and eventually float. The float test is an indication of age, not edibility. Sounds like the eggs were attacked by bacteria and rotted.

Once the chickens are out of the brooder they will roost all night. Providing the light (if you have electricity to the coop) is not so bright as to allow the chickens to mill around at night. I keep the feed and water in the coop. It can also be placed in the run but, preferably not outside...
Are these hawks. There are 22 flying above my backyard chicken coop. They soared above not flapping their wings at all.
I live in Des Moines Iowa. Please help identify.
