I don't know about you, but it seems to me, that Hubbys say alot of things! Keeping track of what they say is way too much work and may cause instant PMS!!
We dont want that now, do we?
I feed mine the highest protien feed I can find.
But, I also start with, and supplement with what I called the "yellow stuff", about a 1/4 cup of what ever crumbles I can find, 1 boiled egg yolk and just enough water to make it a glob! They seemed to do good on this and the "Yellow stuff"...
Helaine,
Of all the geese I have had, it seems it was always the ganders that were the mean ones. But, once they learned not to be mean, they made the best pets? My female Tufted seems to be an instigator of the flock now! "She" will get her jaw a flapping at some one, and then the "gander"...
Here's a few of the silkie crosses!
djackjr,
You mean it rains because you stepped outside? I always thought it was because I stepped outside!
Chester and Hersey are adorable!
OK. gonna try this!
Here's some of the chickens I have for sale. My computer won't let me down load any of the silkie crossses! I will try again later!
Well, if anybody is interested in some young silkie, frizzle, cochin crosses, let me know! They are mostly black.
I also have some ducks for sale! I was told they are Crested Blue Swedish. I have had Blue, black, white and even a few browns? I don't know anything about the breed, any idea what...
I always thought of geese as egos, with feathers, you break that ego, and you have a friend for life!!
When I got my tufted romans, the gander was an adult and one evil bugger!
If he came after me in attack mode, I would grab him by the head, wrap my arms around him and carry him around for...
Hi Helaine!!
I still don't know if we are heading your way! Please don't take this personal, but I have been kinda hoping Hubby has forgotten the Bday party! He and I have both have been a little over worked these past few weeks and the long drive just to spend time with in-laws, does not sound...
I'm so bummed and I figured only the folks on this board would understand.
I could not get a hold of my sister in time to see if she could pick up the Brown Chinese in Kent. I won't have a rig until we catch up on all the hay season breakdowns!
THEN,
Sometime last night, something came in and...
TerrasCritters,
Black East Indies! I love those! I was told they like to fly and would not do good in my situtaton, so I got my crested blue swedish instead.
Luckily my latest setting hen is an australorp(?)! I think Hubby wants me to cut back to just the ones that lay "normal" sized eggs...
Ok, What is a BEI?
I really need a male Brown Chinese!!
How far is Kent from Auburn?
I had to fess up to another setting hen. last night, I really doubt the Hubby would take a drive to Kent to get MORE BIRDS, but I do have a sister in Auburn!!
Helaine!
I if I can find a male brown chinese, I could have a young turfted Roman for you!!
I can't let him go until I find a mate for the goose that hatched him! Without the baby, she is all alone.
(The real parents are not very nice to her.)
Quote:
According to my sweet Hubby, it is VERY possible to have too many chickens!
And ducks..
And geese..
And guineas..
And dogs..
And goats.. (2, is too many?)
Since he pays the feed bill, I can't really argue with him.
I did try to convince him that they are all the same ones that have...
Hi Washingtonians!!
I'm out near Yelm, and I have no clue how many birds I have running around!
I do have WAAAAAAAAY too many silkie, frizzle, bantam, crosses! They are all hatched from what ever hen decide to set, so the ages vary!
I may have a few too many ducks too?
If your interested let me...
Thank you !!
Now you have me thinking...
I have only had the tufted romans for a few weeks, so I don't know if they have ever set a nest.
I hope my brown chinese realizes that, he.she.it, is a goose!!!!
I have been woke up at 2am because my brown chinese could not find the baby ducks it...
I have, what I think is a male Brown chinese.
I have, what I think are two female tufted romans.
I "don't think" any of them get close enough to do what needs to be done, to make fertile eggs.
Somebody is laying eggs, not sure who it is yet?
I was thinking about ordering some brown chinese...
I have about 15 polish hens running around here and I am lucky to get 6 eggs a day.
If there are only two eggs in the nest box, I have to search the bushes around the hen house for what should be a third one.
One is laying in an old cage, on an old gunny sack.
One sometimes lays on the floor...
