I'm allergic to eggs
Eeek! That's too bad! 'Cause they are delish!
(Was that like telling someone who can't have chocolate that chocolate is yummy?)

Dunkopf you've been nothing but rude and opinionated. You should just stop posting.
If you want to be rude, do it in a PM please. I was referring to myself as being crazy because the poster I was replying to was saying the same thing repeatedly instead of addressing my input. The post...
Why would anyone have a problem with you raising your own egg layers? Unless you have a roadside "kill" stand, you should be able to raise meat birds in peace! The difference is like store bought bread vs. homemade bread...you just can't compare the quality in home raised birds/eggs to...

You seem to only be filled with generalizations. My husband has numerous degrees in fields where jobs are available in urban/metropolitan settings...he's decided to pass and live a simpler life in a rural setting. It doesn't mean he's not utilizing them, he is, just not directly...

I am an egg addict...I like the sizes and colors. Processing my dual-purpose chickens is nonexistent because they have become my pets. I can go into raising ducks (even the meat varieties) knowing full well I don't have the heart (or is it guts?) to eat them! I am a pathetic...

Great minds think alike. There's room for all of us!
I just saw a Blue Salmon Marans. It looked exactly like a Salmon Faverolle mixed with a Blue Copper Marans. I'm curious if it wasn't the "pure breed" the lady forcibly said it was, and just a backyard mix. I wish I had gotten a picture!

Muggsmaggee,
I dont like to be the one to point this out, but those with the addiction ALWAYS say, "I'll just cut back, I won't have so many."
Oh, it might work for a few days, maybe a week, but then, POW you are back where you started, and maybe worse!
LOL
I love this thread, and I...

Welcome.
Speaking of eggs...I'm debating on not supplementing light this winter to give my girls a break in their laying cycle. Anybody have suggestions?
Anybody?
