My neighbors are taking lethal action. I dont have the heart for it so I call them if I see one of the predators.
.....
As for the shelters, the dog was dumped by his owners. It could be a health or veterinarian issue. It's not uncommon to be honest. Usually, these dogs are picked up by animal...
Well, we discovered so far a bobcat, two skunks, a rattler, and coyotes making off with out chickens and ducks. Local flocks were either wiped out or nearly decimated by these predators all in the space of a mile. There is also an old stray dog we're going to attempt to trap.
He made off with...
Thanks for the info. My vet has Jade on a weight gain plan because his previous diet, while good, didn't meet all his needs. Avi-cakes are a frequent addition for him.
Chop is always my go to first thing in themorning. I'm looking for more information about an appropriate seed mix for Jade Boy because he always seems to be eating something. I also provide roudybush pellets, chicken, eggs, fruit, veggies, greens, grains, some seed like proso or sunflower or...
I recently took in a indian ringneck. I'd like to learn more about them outside of the books I read. Do they really eat cockatiel seed? Or would a larger size be better? I feed pellets as part of their diet.
His name is Jade btw.
I'm not finding answers with my parrot group so hoping for help...
My neighbors say we had an escalation of skunks breeding out here. I can also consider ground squirrels, a bop, or a cat of some sort. I'm planning to set a live trap and then contact the appropriate service to remove the animal once dealt with. It could be a dog or a dumped cat too. That's a...
The last two days some wild animal has been slaughtering my remaining chickens and roos. I've been forced to ask a neighbor to shelter my remaining birds while I figure out what to do.
I've included a pic of my roo Acorn after his demise. Or what's left of him. I need help identifying the...
Cockatiels need a lot of attention if your going to have just one bird. This is the best start method for you. Just remember they live up to 30 years in some cases.
9 months younger hen, 2 years 9 months older hen. Roos are 2 years 9 months, and older is nearly 6. They each have a divided space of 30 by 30 feet away from the bachlers who get around 90 feet by 60 feet since there is only three of them. No eggs under any hens. I'm very careful now.
Its entirely possible to miss an egg. That happened to me early this year with my only hen. Keep it separate and watch the chickens. Mama will be super nervous to find her baby.
I have a hen who is beating up her rooster. These are the parents of my single chick and I am concerned that that chick will start the same pattern with her roo. Is it normal for a hen to beat up a roo ?
I won't place my younger hen with her parents just in case I miss eggs....
Their start was a little rough, to be honest. Quartz and Amore didn't get along well once she turned 14 days. Her mama plucked her bald so its a bit easier to see this. This is unfortunately a genetic trait between mother and daughters. Quartz is the daughter of Celes and she had a similar...
I tried last night and ended up with two bullies, a conffluffed male, and mother and daughter getting along for the first time ever. They were returned to their original cages. I'll try again later today.
