    Thanks! Due to it's placement, the sun hits one side in the am and the other pm. I like to pick from the shady side when I can. Helps a lot!

    Actually it is not that difficult. If I can do it anyone can if they have the right tools. You need a stable surface to work on. Use masking tape along the area to be cut. Use a fine toothed blade. Go slowly. There are many sites that give good instructions just search "how to cut plexiglass".

    Did you want to keep the plexiglass window? If not maybe you can remove the plexiglass. Cut the center out to make a frame. (You would need a drill and jig saw.) Drill holes around the frame. Add hardware cloth to the plexiglass frame. I'd use small bolts, nuts with lockwashers to attach...

    I think this is true about many types of fruit at the store. I've noticed apples and peaches that have no smell also have no taste.
