Ha! It seems chickens don't really have a "personal bubble". And there's ALWAYS a preferred nest box, unless someone lays an egg in a different nest box first.
We had chicks sold to us as pullets... and we named one of them Eevee. Well, as it turns out, we had to change that name to Stevie! He has gotten even more obvious rooster characteristics since this pic was taken. (not to mention the crowing and the hen-chasing.)
My skinny little easter egger likes to take advantage of that super buff fluff, and just sit right on top!
Anyone else's chickens finding interesting ways to stay warm this winter?
(btw, they refuse to go into the coop, even when it dropped down into the single digits!)
Hi, I've been browsing this site for a while, and I just now decided to actually join so I can contribute anything I've learned since I started my flock of hens about a year ago. I'm planning incubating some eggs for the first time soon, followed by raising some ducks!
