no dewormign yet. thought the corid and the sulfa. drugs were enough for the little systems. Seems to finally be working though. not sure which one. The corid is in the water and i dose each one 1x a day with the sulfa.im going to assume its 7 days then every 21 days?
OK, wanted to make sure you had dosing correct, which it appears you do. If that is the only water they have access to, then if they are drinking normally, they should be getting enough. I wasn't asking because she need to be separate, just wondering if there was any possibility that another...
Have they ever been wormed?
It won't hurt to dose with corid, 2 tsp per gallon of water for 5 days, fresh daily.
Stop the de and wood ashes, both are respiratory and skin irritants and will not repel or kill pests.
I would start treating for coccidiosis right away!

Be sure not to give them anything with vitamins in it (aside from their feed) until AFTER treatment is completed.
Give the Correct dosing is you are wanting to treat with Corid.

Hello,
Thank you for the information. I will print it and keep it in my Chicken file.
Now . . . No Blood or Worms! Nice Color and Texture.
I truly appreciate your time. Thank you :-)
...I'd have the vet do a fecal float to check for worms and coccidiosis.
Be sure to provide Grit (Crushed Granite) free choice.

I might start Corid in case the new ones have exposed her to a new strain of coccidiosis. Do not use any b vitamins during Corid treatment. What do you have for deworming? You can do that as well if it is just an oral dose, and not put in the water.

Hi!
Ok I misread the deal with the amprolium, I dunno what I was thinking. It seem that is an acceptable preventative. I read some of the very looonng thread "Updated - Corid and Amprol (amprolium) Dosing"... Looks like the answer I needed for a preventative dose the 9.6% liquid is 1/2tsp per...
You've gotten lots of good advice! The only thing I would add is to be sure all the chicks get a good multivitamin as soon as the Corid course is finished. Corid works by depriving the coccidia of vitamin B, which your chicks also need. Dosing them afterwards can keep them from crashing.
Looks like a bit of intestinal shedding, but if you wish to treat for Coccidiosis:

Mine looked cold and it took awhile before I figured out it's coccidiosis. They never had diarrhea or blood in the poop. The chicks never got sick and I found out some strains are species specific.
I did corid max dose ASAP and saved most...
My guess is coccidiosis but only because of the red poop. You can quickly dose them with Corid and pull any vitamin additives. But it might be too late. Seems like once they hit a certain point with coccidiosis, even with Corid, they die within a day or two. :/
Maybe it's something else though...
Do you have photos of the poop?
How old are they?
Some folks give a follow up dosing of Corid at a rate of 1/3tsp Corid Powder or 1/2tsp Liquid Corid to each gallon of water for another 5-7 days.
I'm sorry you're having to deal with so much. What antibiotic are you using to treat the older...
They definitely look ill. Blood could have been from poop, especially if they have coccidiosis which is common for birds that age esp when moved to a new environment. I would dose the whole flock. Every waterer should have corid in it. The hunched up ones I would dose orally. @Eggcessive will...
That is a lot of bloody poop.
I agree, I'd treat with Corid asap.
