The coop is 5X7 and approx 4ft high. There are two roosts, we added a second one after adding the 6 additional chicks. There are 4 nesting boxes. They use the roosts during the day but not at night.Unfortunately I get home after dark so they are already to bed. My two older two are bossy but one...

    Not sleeping in coop

I have two 4yr old hens and six 3 month old chicks. They seem to get along well enough. My new babies will use the coop during the day but not at night. When they are in it during the day the older hens are outside and of course the older hens are in the coop at night. It's not cold here yet but...

    FOREVER LONG BROODY MAMA

Thank you! It kills me just to leave her in the cage just for a day :( but I will try this. It's hot here now and very humid, I keep the cage 3/4 shaded but I worry she needs to get out and be a normal chicken. The life of a chicken momma LOL

    Losing their feathers

I will try and find out about the feathers, unless I catch them in a nesting box they are difficult to catch LOL. I bought recommended grains at the feed store. I store them in a plastic tub so I do not have a label but will stop and take a look this week. I appreciate your input :)
