    Help. My eggs aren’t hatching!

Are you using just the incubator settings or do you have another thermometer/hygrometer inside. I find the styrofoam incubators accuracy hard to regulate. A lot of factors to consider. Did you let it run several hours first without eggs?

    Why won't my chicks hatch?

Is the Little Giant incubator thermometer to dangle on the egg or be up on lid? I am borrowing and wonder if it is right. Gives totally different readings

    Why won't my chicks hatch?

I'm sitting confused here too. I had 4 hatch a day early and 4 on hatch day. 1 I helped as it was pipped for 30 hours and had a foam at crack. Dried with harden goo to it. Ended up giving a quick bath and dried with a hairdryer on low. It's doing fine. Another egg must of gave up. It had...

Pullet with swollen abdomen and slight wheeze

Have you considered a blocked crop. My bantam chicken had a swollen chest that felt like a water balloon. I started her on Electrolytes with Penicillin and vitamins in it. No food. The other day she was having difficulty breathing, but seems to breathe better now. I massage her crop 4 times a...

    Wyandotte (2 year old) twitching

I massaged for a few minutes. It is very fluffy and squishy. I think it may have straw from bedding I added to shavings. (I never use straw but someone said to use. I put it in last week. Nothing but trouble with it in food and wateres. I clean several times a day. I will massage again. Feel...

    Wyandotte (2 year old) twitching

Ended up removing her from coop. I picked her up and her chest was sore. Seen flecks of mucus on her breast. Opened her mouth and seen a yellow mucus. Didn't resist me opening. Squawked when I touched her breast. It was spongy and she had a creaky/squeaky sound. Not sure what is really wrong...

Weight method to determine moisture in incubator

I did the weighing eggs also. Was a newbie and didn't realize people don't do anymore. It was absolutely helpful to me as the person who lent me the incubator said to incubate at 70% humidity. I didn't realize until I was candling on day 7 my chicks were too big The high commodity caused...

    Wyandotte (2 year old) twitching

No. I just added straw other day instead of using shavings. Would it of been from straw? I feed sunflower seeds as a treat to help warm the chickens since it gets cold, or to get them inside if I need to leave. Would this cause problems? I have noticed a smelly poop. Not sure if it was hers...

    Wyandotte (2 year old) twitching

I have noticed my bantam is sort of twitching. I thought she was about to gag. It's as if she lifts her shoulders forward then back. Never really opens her mouth. Seen this the last 2 days. She is up and about and even is outside in cold weather. She seems to eat with others, and moves around...
