    Tri-Sulfa Powder Dose for Hen

Hi everyone, I have a hen who was diagnosed with coccidiosis. Tried Corid but she was still exhibiting symptoms, so I picked up some Tri-Sulfa Powder to try. I'd like to administer a direct dose instead of using in drinking water because my other hens are not showing coccidiosis in their fecals...

    Baby chicks with bloody poo

Your description of their droppings and their stance both hint to coccidiosis. You can treat them all with Corid/Amprolium without any negative effect on the ones not yet affected. Just follow the instructions in this article by @casportpony Article 'Treating Coccidiosis with Corid, Amprol...

What could be causing my chicken to poop like this?

Thank you so much! Yeah I’ve been doing it correctly. I’ve been doing 1tsp in a half a gallon and the only other thing in the water has been a tiny splash of apple cider vinegar. I just ordered the bag you linked. It should be here Wednesday. Again, thank you so much! Really appreciate the...

at a loss with my girl. please help!!

I would because it sounds like she went south again when you stopped it. And the B vitamins will actually feed the cocci so quit them for the whole time they’re on the corid. Most people do full dose for five days then half dose for another seven just to be sure

    My flock

...you have photos of the poop? Yes, the one for calves is correct. You can also find it at stores like TSC in the cattle section. Liquid Corid dose is 2tsp or Powdered Corid Dose is 1 1/2tsp per gallon of water given for 5-7 days as the only source of drinking water. Do not add any extra...

    Corid for 5 week chicks

An important thing to remember when dosing chicks (and adults) is that they need non-medicated feed during treatment. The vitamins in medicated chick feed counteract the Corid, so it can't do its' job. Once the treatment is completed, a dose of poultry vitamins should get them back on track and...

    Corid question...

Thank you! I have been giving the full dose just mixing it in a smaller quantity daily, 2.5ml per 4 cups. I haven't done a drench dose cause the baby is so small but today i did give corid water in a dropper a few times today to make sure it's drinking enough of it.

    New chicken- runny poop

Just today. They did travel 1hr away and from a hatchery/breeder place. I am feeding prostock 16% grower from crumble from UFA. Also so mix grains from a friend. But before I feed them the food I have they already have this poop.

    What is this???

Corid won't hurt them if they don't need it, its just a thiamine inhibitor. that looks suspicious, so I'd dose them asap

    Finished Corid treatment...now what?

That's good all are acting normal. If you still wish to give the second lower dose of Corid you can. If you feel they need separated, that's fine too if you think separation will not cause problems with reintegration.

Same dose. Bigger birds drink more so they intake more corid that way

This is a new sound (as of today) my 18 week old pullet is making. Stress? Illness? Puberty?!

If she's through with the Corid treatment, give her a dose of a poultry multivitamin. Corid stops coccidiosis by starving it of the Vitamin B it needs to survive. The downside is that chickens need B, too. Replacing the missing vitamins won't treat that nasty cough, but it should help her fight...

Two dead chicks in brooder pen

I think I got that part figured out: I still have some unmedicated chick feed, but the medicated chick feed I just bought doesn't have Amprolium, so I was trying to figure what to do while I wait for delivery of the correct medicated chick feed. The plan is to use the preventative dose (after...

Help with baby chicks blood in poop

Get the entire flock on Corid ASAP as their only water source. It's normally sold at either Tractor Supply or a local farm store. Liquid dosing is 2 teaspoons per gallon of water. Powder version is 1.5 teaspoons per gallon of water. Make a fresh batch each day for 5-7 days. Act fast. It will...

What could be causing my chicken to poop like this?

If you have been giving the correct dosing of Corid for 7 days without results, then I'd switch to Endocox (Toltrazuril). Liquid Corid dose is 2tsp or Powdered Corid Dose is 1 1/2tsp per gallon of water given for 5-7 days as the only source of drinking water. Do not add any extra...

    Typical poop post, *blood* maybe?

...I'd treat for Coccidiosis and deworm them. My 2¢ others may have different thoughts/suggestions. Corid for Coccidiosis. Liquid Corid dose is 2tsp or Powdered Corid Dose is 1 1/2tsp per gallon of water given for 5-7 days as the only source of drinking water. Do not add any extra...

    Corid powder or liquid?

...clean and tidy. It's a good idea to provide your chicks with a plug of sod from the area in which they will live as well. Liquid Corid dose is 2tsp or Powdered Corid Dose is 1 1/2tsp per gallon of water given for 5-7 days as the only source of drinking water. Do not add any extra...

    Finished Corid treatment...now what?

I haven't been able to get photos of the poop (I am usually out there at night), but I can try to get some later. The chicks are 7 weeks old. To be honest, I really didn't want to keep going with the Corid. Isn't it too late to start again since I've already given them vitamins? But now I'm...

    Advice, Weak Young Hen, Sluggish

Sadly she didn't make it through the night. I'm worried about her sister though, their poops were very runny and I've noticed my older hens look fine but also have runny poops. Should I try to treat the whole flock then?
